Pleasant spring temperatures lured us outdoors, to spruce up the landscape. On the patio, I planted white begonias in urns. Along the drive, we planted a redbud tree with its pretty, heart-shaped leaves, and a lovely forsythia bush, a gift from my daughter-in-law.
The biggest impact was an upgrade to our rock feature. I planted some purple, flowering annuals in the rock bed. With Lowell’s help we secured this stunning pair of heron statues on stepping stones. We get our share of breezy weather, here in Tennessee. The elegant pair of metal herons was my Mother’s Day gift from the family! Aren’t they gorgeous! I just love them.
We added a third solar spot light, so the heron couple looks dramatic and impressive at night too. (See photo below.)
