The second half of December was quiet, and productive. While recuperating from surgery, I made use of my “still” time, writing a children’s story I started a few years ago. The setting is the day after Christmas at a zoo. Elephants, Mama Tukari and baby Nimba enjoy their gifts of evergreen trees, and making new friends.
Once my children’s picture book story is critiqued by my Word Weavers’ writers group, I plan to submit it to publishing houses and literary agents. Appreciate your prayers for the publication of this endeavor.
On National Visit a Zoo Day, Josie, and I visited zoos near and far from the comfort of my loveseat and the convenience of YouTube. If you’ve never seen an elephant, giraffe, lion, or a kangaroo with an evergreen tree, treat yourself to an online video. Some animals munch on the trees, some use it as a scratching post, and some toss them around. Can you guess which ones do all three?
